Like the message and the way it’s done. Nothing hi-tech. Just a man in a street using his voice and reason the let people hear his thoughts.
This video registration (done by friends of the speaker) was being tweeted in the early morning by @rvhooijdonk and I was “sold”. I wasn’t the only one. Lot’s of people retweeted that video in the dutch twittersphere. And so his voice reaches not only the people at the mall that day but an additional 150.000. The power of video + good message + internet = OK!

Commented on the post after one day of silence on my part:
21 comments so far but not one about having a nice job they are proud of. So even this 22nd comment has a purpose. Telling you like minded people that it can happen, having a nice job that pays the rent, feeds the kids and you still have time to be with those kids.

For more that ten years I have been my own boss and off course loved it, but the money factor killed many of my playfulness. Why? Because I’m a creative people person and not a business suite. The value of making is not the money I earn with it. It’s the added value I bring to the other person by my creativity.
I found out this can be true (even more true) within a regular job.
All the business (hate it) is done by my boss and I just do what I’m good at. Adding more productive hours and finding my knowledge and creative thinking touching more people.
You can only do so much as a one mans army.

Not that I’m saying I will never be “free” again, heck I still have my foundation for the remaining two days in the week.

nb. This is a perfect example of how a videopost could / should work from the interaction point of view. GO RUPERT!!!

Chocked up with wet eyes. I know this is happening and I try to forget to keep alive. And give my sons a a warm and save future. Like I wish that on all living things. We are all one.

Gives a great vloggers point of view on how the outside world is handling the vlogger phenomenon. And is at the same time a good example of how the vlogger community works and putting your opinion out there.

Hush, little baby, don’t say a word
Wait for the man with the mocking bird

I’ve seen three of his brainwaves on TED and loved them but this one is my favorite. I like the way he accelerates and slows down again in a continues stream / flow of words. The power of language. It’s not only the meaning of the story and the sentence within, the words itself are explosions of meaning, personalized associations and public symbolism. He uses that power.

I’m very keen on to that kind of oral expression. Dutch (society critical) comedy has a great culture doing just that. Our language invites you to.
(Rives, in my humble opinion, is bordering on comedy)
