Frank and I
Have had this piece of film on my computer for some time now. Couldn’t resist.
I know Frank from way back on the AKI, the Enschede Academy of Visual Arts (1991-1997). In the second year he got caught by the super8 bug and it never left him again. Today he has his own company developing and digitizing super 8 / 16 and all kinds of special celluloid for clients all over Europe. On my two super 8 film I wanted digitized there was some seconds left and he couldn’t resist, and I thank him for that. Love this spontaneous action in his kitchen to get enough light. Where, on a rare occasion, I’m in front of the eye… nostalgia…

Can’t really beat that special quality of the Super 8 – just beautiful. The ‘eye’ image on my site was filmed on s8.
I have a enormous week spot for any celluloid based material. It really captures the light much more intensely. Have no smoothly working s8 anymore and probably never will again. Sad.
We love super 8!
